ACQUIRE: Discover the Value of STEM through our Curriculum
The ALP in BLS is organised in two tiers. The Tier 1 programme is a 10-hour programme comprising a set of computational thinking workshops for all Secondary 1, and application of 1 10-hour programme of AI for Fun , and application of ALP skills and knowledge in VIA projects for all Secondary 2 students. Through these modules, students acquire basic coding, AI knowledge and develop STEM-related skills, communication and collaborative skills, critical thinking and creativity.
APPLY: Put STEM Knowledge and 21st Century Competencies into Action
Selected Secondary 2 and 3 students interested in pursuing their passions and developing their STEM-related skills are identified for the Tier 2 programme, where they have opportunities to deepen and broaden their knowledge in the field such as maker education in Singapore Polytechnic and are challenged to apply their knowledge in projects and competitions, such as VIA-ALP project, STEM playground Grand Finale. Students will also be invited for industry visits and have opportunities to interact with professionals in the field.
AUGMENT: Grow STEM Competencies through out Talent Management Programmes
Interested Sec 2 and 3 students continued to deepen their knowledge and skills in maker education, focusing on advanced CAD, 3D printing in Singapore Polytechnic, and to apply their knowledge and skills in the MOE Innovation Programme.
ASPIRE: Prepare for STEM-Related Careers through our Personalised Education and Career Guidance
Students participated in work experience at HMGICS, learning about innovation and creativity in the green automobile industry.
